Businesses wanting more assistance with returned check
collections can select from three collection programs to
reduce bad check losses.
Re-Deposit – This service is the
most basic but is only available with electronic check
conversion. When checks deposited electronically are
returned for NSF or uncollected funds we simply routes the
electronic check back to the consumer’s bank. If the
electronic check is returned a second time then it is
charged back to the business’s account. Collection success
is about 50% of the charge backs in most cases.
Electronic Check Representment – This service is
available with Check Verification or Electronic Check
Conversion. If the business is using verification only and
depositing paper checks then returns are charged back to the
business account and the check is sent to the business by
his bank. The business then forwards the check to the
collection agency and they attempt to collect the check up
to two times using electronic debits to collect. If the
business is using Electronic Check Conversion we forward an
image of the check to the collection agency on their behalf.
This service increases collection success to about 70% in
most cases.
Secondary Collections – This service is an addition to
Electronic Check Representment. If the collection agency
can’t collect the check electronically they begin letter
writing and phone calls to the consumer to attempt to
collect.
Our company does not provide Electronic Check
Representment or Secondary Collection services; we refer
this business to EFT Processing Center. Redeposit cannot be
used in conjunction with electronic representment.
