Check Conversion
- Electronic check conversion is T-Tech’s primary service.
Electronic check conversion combines the use of check
verification to reduce check fraud and insufficient check
acceptance, improve the efficiency of check collection, and
allow merchants quicker access to collected funds.
Electronic check conversion utilizes imaging to convert the
paper check into an electronic item, which is then processed
through the automated clearinghouse. The merchant scans an
image of the check into the check reader and then returns
the voided check to the customer along with a receipt. The
merchant ‘s account is credited electronically within 48
hours.
Check Guarantee
- Businesses can guarantee 100% of the face amount of the
checks they accept by utilizing T-Tech’s Check Guarantee
program. This program is designed to protect merchants
against losses on returned checks due to NSF or closed
accounts. Our guaranty agency agrees to reimburse the
merchant for NSF or closed account checks that meet the
following requirements:

All checks must be provided to T-Tech and include check
writers phone number and preprinted name, address and
check number.

All checks must be read by a check reader and receive an
authorization to accept either through T-Tech check
verification or check conversion services.

All check writers must present a driver’s license or
photographic ID to confirm the signature is a match.
Check Collection
- T-Tech will route returned transactions to a collection
agent for collection efforts. If the business is
participating in check conversion, we will also route the
electronic image of the check to the agent.
Eliminating paper checks allows quicker access to customer
accounts for re-presentment (up to 4 days sooner than paper
checks). For every day gained in re-presentment, the
percent of successful collection increases 5%.
